Big Bear = Big Fun

The Spriggs Family trip was to Big Bear this week. We rented a cabin on the lake and it was fabulous. Perfect weather and lots of fun for the kids since we were right on the beach. There are a lot of pictures so brace yourself.



As always, Ted is one with nature. Here he is trying to spread his wildlife knowledge onto Camryn with a thorough examination of a baby lizard during our very long hike.

Connor got his share of nature, too.




Ted and Camryn drag racing a Father/son team. Camryn made Ted ask the grumpy old man working the ride if they could have the pink car. Grumpy old man wasn't too happy about it since it meant he had to move another car out of the way to get to it. Good think she's cute, right?

This is the Alpine Slide. You take the ski lift up (which terrified me as I had a white knuckle grip on Camryn), and take a sled down this long windy track. It was a lot of fun. That's Camryn and I in the middle.

Every night we fed the ducks right off the deck.

Connor isn't quite sure what's going on here when we first got on our rented boat. We plopped him down in his life jacket and he didn't move for a while. He did let out a "woooooo" when we started moving, but other than that it took him a while to get his sea legs.
Camryn, on the other hand, seemed to have no problem settling in.

Driving a boat is exhausting.

Eating the whole time we were on the boat is exhausting, too. In usual Camryn fashion, she was asking for food before we left. I told her she had to wait until we started moving and I kid you not, the second Ted turned the engine on and we moved an inch she popped out of her seat and said "Can I eat now?" You would think she'd be the poster child for childhood obesity, but so far only Mommy can be called Fatti.
